Welcome To My Website!
One of the things that Central Synagogue has taught me throughout studying to become a Bar Mitzvah is to fight for what I believe in every way I can and to take responsibility for myself by helping the world where I think it needs help. I love Central Synagogue because the clergy and my teachers have encouraged me to determine what’s important to me and to make contributions that will make a difference.
The issue that is most important to me is environmentalism. This is because our environment is the place where we live, so we should take care of it. Possibly one reason I care so much about protecting and preserving nature is because I live in NYC, a place where there is barely any green, there’s trash all over the street and lots of cars degrading our air. To me this is very sad and scary. This is why I’ve been working with an organization, New York Restoration Project, that plants and cares for trees in NYC and trying to encourage recycling in my school and everywhere else. If we all did our best to be green, we would have a much healthier Earth.
Choosing to do a website invitation rather than a paper invitation is just one of the ways I am supporting the environment. As well as being paperless, a website also gives me a better opportunity to tell you what I’ve been doing to help protect nature, ways you can join in my efforts and other websites you can check out about environmentalism.
I hope you will enjoy reading this, learn from it and feel free to add your comments on the RSVP page. I look forward to seeing you in January!
Love, Nate
